Built around the chassis.
A chassis mount canopy, often referred to as a service body, is a fully enclosed storage solution mounted directly to a vehicle chassis. Unlike a traditional tray and canopy setup, it combines storage, structure and workspace into a single integrated body system.
CDI Chassis Mount Canopies are designed for Australian trades and touring applications, offering practical storage, configurable layouts and a clean integrated appearance across a range of body lengths and door configurations.

Raised floor and C-channel mounting
False floor
A raised false floor sits flush with the opening. The deck runs 41-38 C-slots — the same C-channel family as the walls and roof.

No extra drill holes. Drop in M8 spring nuts — channel nuts — and move the fit-out where you need it.

Fit out the interior
C-channel runs through the floor, the walls and the roof. Start with one idea, skip what you don't need, or bolt up your own.

Floor slides
Pantry slides, lockable drawers, or a fridge on runners — all mount straight to the false floor's C-channel, already set at working height. Slide out to use, unbolt the module when the deck needs to be clear.

Overhead
A drop shelf, a hanging basket, or a strip light mount to the roof C-channel independently. Kit stays clear of the deck without adding a bracket.

Fridge cages
Bolts straight to the floor's C-channel and gives the fridge its own enclosed bay — held fixed, separated from the rest of the load, no shifting on corrugations.

12V
A pair of slim batteries or a full power box mounts straight to the wall C-channel — sized to what you're running. Lights and a 12V fridge suit a smaller setup; more appliances or a heavier draw call for a bigger system, like a Renogy 12V setup with solar or vehicle charging.

Roof rack platform
A full deck for long materials, solar and camp loads. Side C-slots take straps, hooks and rated add-ons such as an awning.
Flush supports sit a rooftop tent level with the deck. Lengths to 3000 mm; the roof is built as a sealed platform.

Roof bars
Tradie bars with Unistrut C-slots for straps, lights and bolt-on accessories.
Stoppers hold the load; flush ends leave a clear run. Open between the bars — not a continuous deck.

Roof C-channel
Low-profile C-channel as a mount pad, along or across the roof, so a later rack does not stack height.
Welded or bolted — not a deck on its own.

Frequently asked questions.
Do I need sensor relocation?
Some vehicle platforms are equipped with parking sensors, blind spot monitoring or other driver assistance systems that may require relocation during installation.
Relocation uses purpose-designed brackets to replicate the original OEM positioning while creating space for underbody accessories and chassis-mounted components. Requirements vary between vehicle platforms and will be confirmed during the quoting process.
What does the structural warranty cover?
CDI Chassis Mount Canopies are backed by a 2-year structural warranty covering the canopy body and structural components under normal use conditions.

How long does installation take?
A standard full installation typically requires 2–3 business days.
Installation time may vary depending on vehicle platform, selected accessories, fit-out requirements and customisation requests.
Can I add accessories later?
Most external accessories can be added after delivery and installation.
However, some underbody components such as trundle drawers and water tanks may require partial disassembly or separation of the canopy body from the vehicle chassis, resulting in additional labour compared to installation during the initial build.
